Septembers off to a excellent start!

Monday 3rd September

Day of the Klinkhammers! Virtually all the fish today have come out to Klinkhammers of various colours, top rod currently for Member Phil Rees standing at 8 trout and as many lost to Klink's.

A klinkhammer is an excellent pattern, and catches alot of fish at Curley's through out the warmer months!

The klinkhammer is an excellent all-round dry fly, one which can be used through out the year. It creates a very imitative silhouette on the water and the body sits in the surface film. Which Usually produces more takes than a fly sitting on the surface itself.

Tie your own? then check out the below video, although initially in a different language it can be converted using the youtube option available.

Weather wise its not a bad day at all! (for a change) virtually nil wind just a slight westerly around 3-4mph. Not clear skies but still humid and absolutely hundreds of various insects coming off the water! The trout have been no deeper than 2-3ft, so very shallow near the surface.

Tightlines,
