Autumn Buzzer fishing..

Check out one of the Members reviews [click here] of our most recent Members Evening Session, of which we hold every month, BBQ's, Curry nights & of course some fishing!

Autumn Buzzer fishing is a very successful method here at Curleys through out the colder months prior to winter. A fun and excellent method, a method that you can proudly hold your head up high after catching to it, knowing you have out witted the fish rather than just switching on its aggressive instincts using a lure etc.
Now I’m not saying lure fishing is a lesser method to buzzers, but buzzer fishing to a certain extent requires a little more knowledge regarding, entomology.
A lot of anglers fish buzzers ineffectively, and I always remember back to a time when the well renowned angler Mr Iain Barr, taught me while he was my boat partner at the EYFA qualifier. Several times he told me to stop retrieving, and he was certainly correct! Buzzers imitate natural aquatic invertebrate, and therefore do not move against the currents within the lake, reservoir concerned. They simply move with the naturally accruing flow of the water. So leave the flies static, and very slowly, barely move the line itself, a virtually static very slow figure of eight to keep in contact with the flies is all that’s needed. You will be truly surprised at the increase in your catch rate to buzzer/nymphs when fished in this manner.
