Thursday 5th July

Over clouded with a very slight easterly breeze, majority of the lake is a flat calm currently.
Trout are rising towards the road side embankment, feeding on dark adult sedges, taking them quite aggressively off the surface. Black G&H sedges will do very well fished close in to the bank.

Fish coming out already, the stocked fished seemed to have really woken up this morning after being stocked yesterday. A larger resident fish has been caught to a daddy long legs by Member Ian Long.

Buzzers and natural patterns coming out on top over the last few days. With the usual suspects, Cats whisker, Zonkers and black fritz also catching a few trout.

The Members Evening Session held last night went well, not a massive amount of fish caught but Member Paul Knight came out on top with 4 fish to cats whiskers.
The weather held off which was also a plus! and the sun even came out towards late evening.

Mayflies out in large numbers over the last few days, and I'm sure today will be no different.

Stuck at home or work? something to watch -
An Award winning fly fishing video, a must watch.

UPDATE [12:30pm]
Very hot currently, and virtually no wind. Few fish rising but not to the same numbers as this morning, best time to fish when the conditions are like this, early morning and late afternoon, (evening rise can be brilliant after a warm sunny day, just as the sun starts to die down, and the temperature drops slightly). The fresh stock of trout are still acclimatising to the water. It will be later on this evening going on to early Friday morning when they will settle.
