Sunday 8th July

The rains holding off so far, and the wind is minimal. Excellent weather wise considering the forecast was appalling for today.

The water has cleared up slightly from yesterday, but still a little cloudy in colour.
Fast sinking lines and close to the bottom as possible, try and get beneath the cloudy water. The centre of the dam wall is the deepest point, around 35-40ft roughly were the pipe follows the angle of the dam. Casting out towards the cafe from the damn wall will optimise your chances of catching today, short leader to get down quicker, a buoyant fly on the point to keep the flies away from the wall and snags.

The trout will be where the clearer slightly cooler water levels are. Find the thermocline layer! and you will find the fish, a lot of anglers still fishing floating lines, switch to fast sink lines to achieve the best results.

Black Blob, white & orange fritz boobies and comorants will do well as a team.
Black will stand out in the water much better than brightly coloured lures!

Curleys Youtube channel finally up and running! check out the introduction video above.
Lots more HD videos to come soon!

Tight Lines,
Nathan
