Saturday 21st July

A lovely day here at Curley's Trout Fishery, the suns out and so are the midges! (non biting kind currently).
A few anglers out on the water, Jim McGinleys just had a nice bow at 3lb to a Cats whisker.

Alot of fish showing, but with this bright sunshine, they will be shooting straight back down to deeper water.
Unlike over the last few days, its been mostly overclouded and therefore the fish have been close to the surface and remaining so, just cruising no more than 2-3ft down. Dries being very successful on such days.

However with the sun being out, i recommend a slow sink or intermediate line to carry your flies to the right depth. Blobs and boobies doing well recently, stripped back and left for 20secs or so on the "hang" before lifting into a cast.

Fridays top rod goes to Member Gary Stanley who netted 7 fish to Buzzers and Black Gnat imitations.

Current must have flies:
Cruncher, Dwial Bach, Cats whisker Booby, Orange Blob, Red Klinkhammer, red/black buzzers and cats whiskers.

Tightlines,
Nathan
