Todays report:
Currently a Westerly wind around 12-15mph (towards the small coarse lake).
Surprisingly quite a few fish showing just under the surface, although difficult to see.
Sunday was overall a quite day as the conditions weren't too good to say the least, with strong winds and heavy rain virtually all day. However the fish caught over the course of the last 2 days have been just under the surface, no more than 3ft down. The wind and rain has cooled the water temperature down which is what we needed!

With Plenty of fish currently at large in Curleys Trout Lake, we will have a excellent August, with cooler temperatures and the month at Curleys where we see alot of Damselflies, towards the end of july to mid august. Already quite a few of them around. A marabou damselfly nymph or a braided butt damsel imitation. But if your limited to just a few dries, the trout may well take these off the surface, as a few anglers have proven over the last week, with alot of fish coming out to daddy & sedge patterns.

Current Top patterns:

  1. Daddy long legs imitations (dry, fished static or slowly brought back over the waves!)
  2. Orange / white Goldhead Fritz (stripped back just under the surface).
  3. Black & Olive buzzers (fished around 8-12ft down, static).
Tight Lines,
Nathan
