Saturday 4th August

The weathers holding off so far, overclouded, with a very slight easterly breeze around 4mph.
Off to a flying start this morning, Member Jim McGinley has had 7 fish to his net within 2 hours! To various patterns all fished within the top few feet.

Quite a few anglers out on the water currently, with non stop action at 9:30am, excellent sport predicted for the rest of today.

Today's top patterns:
  • Black tadpole
  • Red Bodied Klinkhammers
  • Daddy long legs

Today's Conditions.

UPDATE:
Excellent sport today the fish are being very obliging, a lot of fish no more than 3ft down.
The suns now out but fish are still being caught to dries, although the majority of the trout will be a little deeper as the sun will push them deeper.

Top rods:
Member Jim McGinley with 8 fish to various patterns sub-surface.
Mr Phil rees currently has 6 fish under his belt
Young EYFA Angler Oliver Avis has netted 4 fish so far to nymphs and mini fritz lures.

Young Fly Fishing Ace Oliver Avis does it again! with 7 fish to his net now, and a few nice fish amongst the usual stocking size. Some fully finned fighting fit residents, one of which is pictured below.
