1st Day of August

Off to a excellent start this month!
Tuesday night was the most incredible evening hatch we've had all year, with fish coming out all across the lake to dries and sub-surface flies.
Most fish caught by one angler was 8 within 2 hours, Geoff, the other bailiff, managed 5 within 20minutes!
Most if not all fish caught to klinkhammers, of various sizes and colours. A incredible midge hatch that lasted virtually through last night and is still currently taking place.

No members evening on tonight, but anglers more than welcome to come down and catch few fish this evening. Another typical evening rise on the cards! Although this has virtually been taking place through-out today.

All fish caught today have been no deeper than 2ft down, quite a few trout visible to the naked eye, no more than 2-3ft down. Excellent to see a trout come up to take a well presented fly!

Mike Roden playing a fish caught to a Klinkhammer off pontoon 2.

To see how close they are to the surface, stand above the larger lake at the soon to be cafe/restaurant area.

Get down tonight and catch that classic evening rise!

WEATHER:
Very little easterly breeze, the majority of the lake is flat calm currently.

Tight lines,
Nathan
