A big thanks to all those who visited the fishery over the weekend, I hope you all enjoyed the event.
If you have any comments to make about it please feel free............
I guess it's just sod's law that the fishing was quite difficult, weather and temperatures all over the place don't encourage rainbows to be all that active. A lot struggled with ones and two's and even a few blanks here and there which is a rare occurrence for Curley's nowadays. However some guys managed to work out the right tactics "Pontoon Pete" for example had 9 fish on Saturday!
The very best news is that with your generosity we managed to raise just over £200 for our chosen charities - Fantastic achievement in these hard times and a testament to the nature of Fly fishing and fly fishers - Thanks to all.
We did the Raffle Draw on Sunday afternoon and we will be contacting all the winners over the next couple of days and will post a list here when we have all the names.
I must offer my thanks to all the help that we had over the 2 days - The fantastic group of instructors; Richard, Mike, Ian, Bernie with Pat Stevens and the guys from Bolton Fly Tying Club, John and Dave who all offered their services completely free for the weekend. Without such support it would not have been possible.
So back to the fishing - overcast today with a bit of a westerly going on from the dam wall.
More later......

Enjoyed coming to meet everyone, the lessons myself and Wendy had we're great and we picked up a few tips from Pat as well :) Shop looks great (oh woe is my wallet...) and we'll definitely be back for some Rainbow action and probably some tackle bits and pieces. We may join up with Bolton Tyers as well after meeting the guys but we need a few lessons from Pat first.
