Couple of slower days yesterday and today, no doubt caused by the torrential rain on Wednesday followed by much colder conditions. This has put the fish 'on the back foot' so to speak.
Today when I got to the fishery a few we're topping but the majority are deeper but in reach of a long leader on a floater or certainly a slow intermediate.
The prospects for the weekend are good if a little colder, so wrap up warm and bring the sinkers if you have them. If you don't have a sinking line obviously you can buy one in the shop and we will spool it up for you ready to go. If you don't want to buy one then you have 2 options:
1/ use a floater with a long leader and fish static under a bung or indicator
2/ use a sinking poly tip leader. We have two in the shop an intermediate and a fast sinker, these will in effect convert your line to an effective sink tip, allowing you to get deeper with your flies. At only £3.99 this is a very cost effective method.
Have you read Terry Phillips article in this months "Total Flyfisher"? He was fishing at Curley's for this feature and sheds some light on his, very successful fishing methods. A good read and well worth the price of the Mag.
