The trout are in feeding mode, and have been for the last few days. The natural prior to winter feeding instinct has kicked in (as discussed in a previous post). Trout taking dries, large lures...it appears anything they can gorge on currently.
Prior to the colder months the trout gorge themselves on every available food source, doing their best to stock up as much as possible before winter. This makes fishing excellent this time of year!
Just to give you an idea of the fishing currently....
Phil Rees - 5 fish, and 5 fish yesterday to various patterns.
Gary Stanley - 4 fish taken to various patterns, on the surface and just subsurface.
Oliver Avis - 6 fish again taken to various patterns, around 10ft down.
Its vital this time of year to chop and change and vary the depth to find the fish feeding zone.
Tightlines,
Nathan
