Another month has gone by - where is the time going, this year is flying by!
Another respectable day for fly fishing - cloud cover and pleasantly warm with a little breeze. Should be good for a buzzer hatch today.
Don't forget that chironomids (buzzers) hatch in the silt in the bed of the lake and fish can feed on them anywhere from the bottom of the lake to the surface. So don't be fooled by little or no surface action - they could be 20ft, 15ft, or 10ft deep but still feeding merrily. Long leader and floating line or an intermediate or even a long leader with buzzers under a bung or indicator can work well.
Some sedges have been coming off most of the week, again if there is little surface activity try a sedge pupae pattern(available form the shop!)
I'll be dong a float tubing lesson today - first of the year, should be good fun
