2nd June

Nice sunny day with an unfortunate cool breeze, still it is only June after all!

The wind is keeping the fish sub surface but not too deep, if it would just ease a little bit the fish would be rising freely, I am sure.

Steady hatch of sedges coming off. Sedges or Caddis flies can be identified by the roof shape in the wings (at rest) as shown on this picture. The females can fly low to the water and touch down every now and again to lay eggs and therefore it is one of the few "dry" flies that you can twitch about in the surface.

A G&H sedge fly pattern is a good imitation in either natural or black

Top rod today is Julie with 4 fish and a few more missed just before the net!
